I'm baking a difference

This July, with the help of my 7 year-old daughter and naturally under the watching eye of our 12 year olden golden retriever - I will be baking bikkies - for humans and dogs! We want to help raise money for New Zealanders who are blind or have low vision. Thank you for your donation and for helping me to raise a lot of dough this Bikkie Day.

Personal note about vision

Wednesday 8th Jul
What feels like a life time ago, when I was 23, I was diagnosed with Keratoconus (ker-uh-toe-KOH-nus)  - which occurs when your cornea — the clear, dome-shaped front surface of your eye — thins and gradually bulges outward into a cone shape.

I had a cornea transplant in my left eye within 5 months of being diagnosed and then a transplant in my right eye two years later. It was a painful and emotional process that took a lot of time.
But I was very fortunate that contact lenses on-top of the transplant gave me back vision and the opportunity to continue with life in a normal way.

I am forever thankful for my vision and always eager to support any organisation, including Guide Dogs, who support blind or low vision individuals.

Baking some cookies for this Bikkie Day is only a small way of showing my support for what the Blind Low Vision Association do for so many!

Thank you to my Sponsors
